DUKE&KAY GUIDED A CHEMICAL SECTOR COMPANY TOWARDS A NEW BUSINESS STRATEGY

Situation

The company is part of a leading group in the paint sector, with subsidiaries in the main European countries and distribution in over 100 countries. It also produces resins, adhesives and polyurethane elastomers. Group turnover around 300mil€.

All products are manufactured in the Italian plant where the Headquarter, the Sales BU, the Administration/Finance and Control Department and the Purchasing Department are also located.

Duke&Kay activity

As part of the Operations’ reorganization process, Duke&Kay was asked to identify an Executive in charge for the management and coordination of the worldwide Operations, reporting directly to the shareholders.

The first task of the Group Manufacturing Officer was to develop a new strategic plan and implement the related implementation into the business plan to achieve the objectives (products, sectors, regions) defined in agreement with the shareholders.

Results

The selected manager, with solid specialized expertise and very strong interpersonal skills, was able to outline a new development plan based on Operations’ improved efficiency

He also proved to be one of the main players in improving profitability by guiding the company towards success, achieving the goals set and above all providing the right motivation to the teams to move forward on the same path.
